I recently took early retirement from the local university, giving me more time for my embroidery and textile related activities.

There is now time to be a more active participant in my local branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild, in Colchester, to visit more exhibitions, enjoy workshops and do more reading about my favourite topics both in print and on-line.

I’ve also become a student again – acting on my interest in quilting and quilt art I signed up for the City and Guilds in Patchwork and Quilting with Creative Stitch Suffolk.  It’s been a great two years of challenges and learning new skills.

A fuller teaching programme is planned for 2016. Years ago I completed my City and Guilds Part II in Embroidery with the inspirational Anthea Godfrey at the London College of Fashion as it then was.  I have taught a wide range of classes over the past twenty years, at local community education colleges, including City and Guilds and leisure classes, with the WI, and most recently independently in the Wivenhoe and the Colchester area of Essex.
